Description
Celiac Disease is a chronic small intestinal immune-mediated enteropathy triggered by the exposure to dietary gluten in genetically predisposed individuals.
WHAT ATE THE SYMPTOMS?
Symptoms varied depending of the type of Celiac Disease:
- Classical form (intestinal): diarrhoea, malabsorption, decreased appetite, weight loss and abdominal pain
- Non-classical (extra-intestinal): iron deficiency anaemia, muscle cramps, restlessness, depressed mood, arthritis and dermatitis.
WHEN TO DO THE TEST?
You should be tested for celiac disease if you have any one of these symptoms:
- persistent unexplained gastrointestinal symptoms, such as diarrhoea, stomach ache and bloating. faltering growth.
- prolonged tiredness all the time (fatigue)
If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms, perform the Gluten Test Plus and inform your healthcare provider of the results to be assisted as quickly as possible.
HOW TO PERFORM THE TEST?
- Prick the fingertip and collect the blood using the pipette provided in the kit.
- Transfer the blood in the well of the cassette.
- Then add 1 drop of diluent in the same well and start the timer.
Read the results within 10 minutes.
Note: If you are on a gluten-free diet, the level of disease associated antibodies decrease and may not be detectable by the test.
